A Moment of Doubt

For just a moment I doubted everything
Everything about me.
I doubted my worth, my senses, my reflection in the mirror.

I doubted that I could be made up of enough value, enough beauty, enough intelligence, enough reason for someone to stay.

But it faded. Not the pain, not all of the regret, not even the misguided love.

The doubt, however, faded.

Because I am valuable, I am beautiful, I am worthy, I am the kind of woman who makes staying worth it.

The problem was not my reflection. It was his vision.

And someone out there has 20/20.
